Level I Technician/Technologist
Required Skills
The ideal candidates will be self-motivated, team players committed to continued professional growth. Candidates must be proficient in the use and repair of Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft Windows systems, and networks (account management and connectivity). Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as excellent time management and problem solving skills are required. Ability to work in a service-oriented team environment preferred. Candidates must have the ability to provide excellent customer service by demonstrating a customer centric focus and act with professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and helpful concern to achieve effective teamwork and human relations.
Position Summary
Setup, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair of computers and related equipment at sites.
To administer network in the areas of user management and connectivity
Provide technical support to end users
Assist teachers with integrating technology into the classroom
Responsibilities
Installation and configuration of computer workstations, printers, and other peripherals
Install, configure and troubleshoot XP operating systems, updates, and related software for the client network.
Install, configure and troubleshoot Mac operating systems, updates, and related software for the client network.
Automate the support of staff, faculty, and computer labs. Utilize "push and pull" technologies to deploy software.
Work with Help Desk software and respond to problems/requests in an efficient and timely manner.
Diagnose hardware problems and work with vendor tech support.
Maintain an accurate and current inventory of all hardware and software.
Support school students, administration, faculty and staff on technical issues.
Other duties as assigned
Job qualifications
Qualified applicants should have at least 2 years experience in network environment or equivalent training/education, good understanding of LAN/WAN environments, Mac operating systems, and Microsoft operating systems.
Industry certifications are a plus.
Experience in an academic environment is preferred.
Criminal background check is required.
Must possess a valid Vermont Driver's License
Travel between assigned sites required
Ability to travel on occasion to offsite training and conferences required.
Candidates must be able to lift 55 lbs.
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Level II Technician/Technologist
Required Skills

Candidates must be proficient in the use and repair of Windows Server 2003 systems, and have a strong knowledge of network management, equipment and connectivity. Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as excellent time management, ability to work without direct supervision and problem solving skills are required. Candidates must have the ability to provide excellent customer service by demonstrating a customer centric focus and act with leadership, professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and helpful concern to achieve effective teamwork and human relations.
Position Summary
In addition to the position summary of Level I Tech position, Level II Techs must also be able to:
Setup, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair of servers and related equipment at sites.
Administer the network infrastructure using Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WINS, IIS, NTBackup and related services.
Provide technical support to Level I techs
Maintain firewalls, routers and related WAN equipment
Analyze logs for security purposes
Responsibilities
In addition to the responsibilities of Level I Tech position, Level II Techs are also responsible for:
Installation and configuration of servers, firewalls and routers.
Install, configure and troubleshoot related server software.
Utilize cloning techniques to install new equipment.
Analyze server and firewall logs for auditing and security purposes.
Maintain backups and backup schedules. Verification of backups and ASRs.
Support Level I Techs for network related issues.
Other duties as assigned
Job qualifications
Qualified applicants must have a working knowledge of managing wide area networks and should have at least 2 years experience in a network environment or equivalent training/education.
Industry certifications are a plus.
Experience with School Management Software, SpEdDoc a plus.
Working knowledge of SonicWall Firewalls and Cisco IOS recommended.
Experience in an academic environment is preferred.
